Our Story

How it all started

Resellia was founded by four individuals whose paths crossed at the right time, in the right place. Li Wei, the company's CEO, was born in China and graduated from Tsinghua University with a degree in Computer Science. In 2019, at the age of 26, he relocated to the United Kingdom — a move that would change the course of his career.

It was there that he met Oliver Brown, James Smith, and Harry Wilson — three British professionals who had each studied at the University of Oxford. Oliver held a degree in Communication, James in Digital Media, and Harry in Information Technology. At the time, all four were working within the same industry, focused on digital live commerce in the UK market.

Observing the growing demand for digital products across the United Kingdom, Li Wei saw an opportunity. Rather than simply participating in the market, he envisioned building a dedicated platform for it. Together with Oliver, James, and Harry, the idea that would eventually become Resellia began to take shape.

The early days were not without difficulty. The team expanded to around ten people at one point, but most chose to leave as the business was still finding its footing. Through it all, Oliver, James, and Harry remained. The four co-founders committed to seeing their vision through, pooling an investment of approximately $500,000 to keep the project alive and moving forward.

The Meeting
Li Wei relocates from China to the United Kingdom. In the UK tech and digital commerce industry, he meets Oliver Brown, James Smith, and Harry Wilson — all Oxford graduates working in the same space.

The Idea Takes Shape
The four see a clear gap in the market for a dedicated digital product reselling platform. They begin building, pooling roughly $500,000 to fund the venture. The team grows briefly to around ten people before most depart as early revenues are limited.

Platform Launch
The platform launches under its original Chinese name, Léi sāi lì yà (雷赛利亚). By end of year it reaches nearly 250,000 users, processes over $1M in seller payouts, and an additional $700K to Marketplace producers.

Global Expansion
Cryptocurrency is adopted as the primary payment method, opening the platform to users across more countries. Card payments remain available in China and select European markets. The platform continues scaling across North America, Europe, and Asia.

Becoming Resellia
The founders rename the platform Resellia — derived from Reseller AI — to create a name that travels easily across every language and continent. The rebrand marks a decisive commitment to building a truly global company.
